Photo source: Christmas 1916 Monrovia Daily News. Ernest A. Bovee came from a farm near Green Mountain Iowa. He came to Arcadia with his parents at the age of 21 where he began to plant orange grove. In 1900 he married Winnie A. Valentine and moved to Monrovia. In 1908 he was made zanjaro in charge of the irrigation system, then deputy constable, city marshall in 1915 and in 1925 deputy city treasurer.. See John L.
