History of the Burr House. Built for Frank W. Burr and his family in 1893. Finished entirely of redwood, the 10 room home was completed entirely to Burr's handwritten specifications which survive to this day. The reported cost was $2,800. Frank Burr died in 1917, but Laura survived him by thirty years, continuing to live in the house with their son Myron. Myron Burr moved from the house in 1975 and it was sold after 82 years of family ownership.

Frank and Laura Burr family - c. 1894
At 150 N Myrtle with the whole family -- five children, Aunt Gerdensia Burr on the balcony with either a relative or servant. Shows the home originally faced south, toward what is now Foothill (then called Live Oak). Given the estimated age of the youngest child (Gladys) who was born c. 1890, this photo is taken soon after the house was completed in 1893.
