    An article from unidentified source about his life. It says he was born in 1868 in Omaha and came to Calfiornia in 1870 with his father William Newton Monroe. It says George was the only son of William and Mary Jane Monroe, but in fact they had another son, Milton, who died in a railroad accident in 1899. In Mrs. George (Annetta Evans) Monroe's scrapbook.
