Myrtle Avenue is decorated for Christmas with Van deKamp's bakery at the corner of Palm, the Menge Furniture Building, and the Monrovia Theater. Library Park is at left. The Marquee on the Monrovia Theatre has the Glenn Ford movie "Man from Colorado" which was released in 1948. The Van de Kamp's Bakery is missing its windmill which happened during WWII because the windmill blades were removed as a precaution that it could be a potential target. They were reattached before 1950 not long before the bakery moved to the Neville building in the early 1950s. |
