Her first great granddaughter, Betty Thomas (1942- ) has been active in Monrovia community including Second Baptist Church and Monrovia-Duarte Black Alumni Association. Thomas is a nurse and teaches geriatrics in the LVN program at the El Monte-Rosemead Adult School.
